Green Sisterhood Goes to Washington

I am excited to announce that Anna and I will be heading down to DC for US- China Greener Consumption Forum co-organized by Big Green Purse – one of Green Sisterhood bloggers. We are honored to be one of the media partners for this unprecedented talk on consumption between the two super powers.

Reducing consumption is a large part of living greener. We believe this dialogue between the two super powers is an important step to being environmentally responsible globally. What’s more, this movement in China is spearheaded by women organizations, using their ‘purses’ to speak out about consumption. There is much to be learned from that movement and speakers from various organizations from China will present their case studies in how they achieved their goals.

From the US side, there will be representative from various American industries, as strange as it may sound, sharing what their companies have done in their efforts to help consumers reduce consumption.  Lisa Jackson, the former EPA Chairperson, will be a keynote speaker so we are looking forward to hearing what she has to say on what reducing consumption means to the environment.

If you’d like to follow the event, we will be tweeting all day long on Friday using hashtags #uschinagreenforum and #gsgf13. Follow along with our network bloggers with the same hashtag and tweet and retweet with us. Also, if you’d like to find out more information about this joint endeavor in greener consumption, check out the Facebook Page for US China Greener Consumption Forum.
